Bienvenidos al Peru!

I believe Peru is an amazing country everyone should visit. To that end, I’m currently working on Peruvian.com and IncaTrail.com. I’m committed to developing these two sites into powerful brands who’s mission is to inspire, guide and reward travelers who visit the country.

The World Travel and Tourism Council projected tourism revenue in Peru to reach $9.8 billion in 2010, up from $2.3 billion dollars in 2009. People are drawn to this country for a number of reasons. Surfers come here to ride some of the best waves in the world. Adventure travelers seek the thrill of skiing the Andes and trekking the famous Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu. For all you foodies out there, Peru has been praised by top chefs from around the world for its amazing cuisine. If you find yourself in Chorrillos, a district in the province of Lima, hop in a cab (hold on tight) and tell the driver to take you to Sonia’s. Their ceviche is nothing short of amazing!

Being Lean.

I first learned about being lean at a monthly meet-up in New York City called Ultralight Startups, organized by Graham Lawlor. At the end of every meet-up, I would leave inspired by the accomplishments many startups had achieved with little resources. I soon learned about Eric Ries and the Lean Startup methodology. As an interactive designer who pushes for pixel perfect designs and who strives for delivering the best user experience possible from day one, it was initially a challenge for me to accept launching anything that was “good enough”. For me, lean was a difficult concept to accept.

As I began to learn more about how companies should be built, I quickly became a fan. Today, I’m applying the Lean methodology in the development of Peruvian.com and IncaTrail.com.

My company is being built primarily on sweat equity. I freelance and do consulting work on a regular basis to stay afloat. The Lean Startup Bundle is extremely valuable and a great deal for any bootstrapping startup. Included in the bundle is PivotalTracker, an amazing tool I’ve used in the past for managing builds. Many more tools and services are included in the bundle which I plan to use including KissMetrics, crazyegg and WP Engine. Without these, reaching my goals quickly and affordably would be practically impossible!

Please Vote For My Startup!

The Appsumo.com Lean Startup Challenge is on! It’s an opportunity for my startup to win cash and prizes which I can use to help build and launch my company. With a little bit of luck, I may even get some one-on-one time with the Lean Startup mentors.
